 SKETCHES

SKETCH # 1
Follow the video and set up the 12 boxes (using a ruler)! on your sketchbook page.
SKETCH # 2
You are going to set up your own composition.  Fruits, vegetables, objects that you arrange are set up so that your EYE sees a triangle.  You do not set up an actual triangle.  The group of objects becomes a way for you to see the angles around those shapes.  We call this a "triangular composition".

SKETCH # 3
NATURE PAINTING PLANNING SKETCH!
In your sketchbook, draw the shapes of your animal in a grid of thirds (rule of thirds).
Your landscape comes first (light washes) and secondly, your animal in the foreground (light washes). Let it dry in between painting layers.  This is your practice sketch for your final work.

Practice your watercolor techniques by
dividing your page into 13 sections like you
see in this video.
Try each of these techniques to better
understand TRANSPARENCY, TEXTURE, and
 WASHES in this medium.
